The Department of Computer Science offers two programmes (Bachelor of Computer Science and Bachelor of Computer Application) and Master’s programme in Computer Science. Careers in Computer Science remain in very high demand and they offer not only the comforts of a high-paying job, but also the intellectual challenges of a creative and productive profession.
MSc in Computer Science aims at inculcating creative thinking. In addition to mastering foundational theoretical concepts and practical skills, the focus of this programme is to prepare students to conduct high-quality research through audit courses in first three semesters and a project in the fourth semester. Project areas stretch across diverse areas like Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Computer Networks and Computer Security.
Learning is a continuous process and does not end with the acquisition of a degree, especially because steady and rapid advances in computing technologies shorten the life of tools and techniques prevalent today. Therefore, we do not aim to make our students walking manuals of any language or package. Instead, they are given a strong foundation in computer science and problem-solving techniques, and are made adaptable to changes.
We believe that this approach to teaching-learning, coupled with practical experience gained during industrial training in reputed organizations, equips our students to handle the challenges posed by the software industry.
