As a part of the faculty exchange programme an invited talk was organized jointly with Department of Mathematics, University of Zululand, Durban on December 27, 2019. Dr Syamala Krishnan Nair, Associate Professor in the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the University of Zululand delivered a talk on “Multivariate Nonlinear Statistical Processes Monitoring Methods: A Review.

STATE-LEVEL WORKSOP
A state levelworkshop on “LATEX” was organized on 14th December 2019.Rev. Dr. Mariyamma.K.D, Assistant Professor, Christ College Autonomous, Irinjalakuda was the resource person. The talk was intended for the benefit postgraduate students in preparing project reports and dissertations.

NATIONAL SEMINAR
A two-day National Seminar on “Advanced Developments in Statistical Theory and Applications” was conducted on 28,29 February 2020 in association with Kerala Statistical Association. The seminar was inaugurated by Emeritus Professor Dr. A.M Mathai, McGill University, Canada. The Patron of Kerala Statistical AssociationDr Yageen Thomas, University of Kerala, delivered keynote address, A number of eminent resource persons attended the programme and shared the advance developments to the statistics fraternity.Dr T.V. Ramanathan, Pune University, Dr C. Satheesh Kumar, University of Kerala, Dr P.G. Sankaran, CUSAT, Dr Jayakumar. K, University of Calicut, Dr R Vijayaraghavan, Bharathiar University, Dr K.K Jose, Mahathma Gandhi University, Dr. Sunoj S.M, CUSAT, and Dr Vinu C.T, IIM, Tiruchirappalli were some of the resource persons delivered talks in the programme.

INTER-COLLEGIATE QUIZ
Department of Statistics hosted the Dr. U.S Nair all Kerala intercollegiate quiz competition, Prof R.N Pillai Young Statistician Award for best presentation, Dr. T.S.K Moothathu Award for Best Paper publication and various endowment lectures in connection with the annual conference of Kerala Statistical Association.

As a tribute to our retiring Head of the Department and Controller of Examinations an International Webinar series on “Recent Innovations in Statistical Methods and Applications – RISMA 2021” was organized on 23, 25 February 1, 3, 5 March 2021. The programme was received by enormous response by the researchers and postgraduate students of Statisticsacross the world. NATIONAL STATISTICS DAY
The National Statistics Day was celebrated on 29,30 June 2021. As a part of the celebration, the Department organized an all-Kerala Quiz Competition on 29th June and cash prizes were awarded to the winners. On June 30,2021, a talk on “Administrative Statistics” was given by Mr Shojan P.P, Deputy Director, Department of Economics and Statistics, Thrissur. The official launching of our website on the consultancy services” DATASCAN” was done by Rev Dr Julius Arakkal, Director, Amala Institute of Medical Sciences.

Students and research scholars of Amala Institute of Medical Sciences attended the programme. Dr. Davis Antony M, Department of Statistics was the resource person.

EXTENSION ACTIVITY
An extension talk on “Analytical Tools for preparing UG Project Reports” was conducted by the Department of Statistics for the Commerce students of Christ College, Irinjalakuda on 5th November 2021. Dr. Davis Antony M was the resource person. The talk was much beneficial for the students in acquainting various statistical tools for the successful analysis of real data.
