DELF

Congratulations to the students of the Department of French who passed the DELF A1 examination with flying colours!

The training was provided by Ms. Rosemich Rich, Coordinator, Department of French. Seven students had registered for the examination and all of them passed.

DELF is a diploma awarded by the French Ministry of Education to assess the French language skills. It is valid for lifetime.

On 29th November 2019, ‘Ratatouille’, the French food fest, organised by the Department of French in association with the Department of Hotel Management introduced the students and teachers to a variety of French flavours.

RATATOUILLE: French Food Fest

The fest served as a venue for the learners of French language to come together and experience the nuances of French language, cuisine, culture and more. The students achieved success in transfusing the spirit of the French culture and cuisine to the campus.

Salad Making at ‘La Fête Francophone’- All Kerala French Fest

The students of the Department of French, Christ College Irinjalakuda participated in the 13th all Kerala inter school/ intercollegiate French Fest ‘La Fête Francophone’ which was organized by St. Teresa’s College Ernakulam on 7th Dec 2019.

They took part in the event salad- making. The fest is a platform for the learners of French language from all over Kerala to come together and experience the nuances of French language, culture, cuisine, literature, and more.

Webinar: French through storytelling

The Department of French in association with IQAC organised a webinar « Racontons une histoire ». on 17th June 2021.  The webinar was presented by Dr. Somadha Mohan, Associate Professor of French (Retired), The Department of French, The Cochin College. The key topics of discussion was using stories as a medium in French Language Teaching. The resource person shared numerous valuable tips to acquire and retain more vocabulary.

 

French National Day celebrations- Online Quiz on ‘France’

In the spirit of the celebrations of « La Fête Nationale », the National Day of France, the Department of French organized an online quiz on France on 14th July 2021.

The quiz was prepared by Ms. Sandra Biju, (II BSc. Psychology) under the guidance of Ms. Rosemin Rich, Co-ordinator, Department of French.

French learners and experts from all over Kerala participated in this online quiz.

The participants who secured more than 50% marks were provided with e- certificates.

 

International webinar on French pronunciation ‘Parlons Français’ at Sahrudaya College

The Department of French, Christ College Irinjalakuda opened before the students an opportunity to participate in the International on French pronunciation ‘Parlons Français’ organised by Sahrudaya College, Kodakara, on 7th July 2021.

The resource person for the session was a French native Mme. Colette Charbonnier, who is an expert in the field of teaching French as a foreign language. Mme Charbonnier is a retired FLE teacher, from the University of Caceres, Spain and also an official translator and interpreter, of the Ministry of Justice, Spain. She is also a French cuisine book writer. 

Interested students participated in the same and found the session captivating. Thanks to Sahrudaya College for opening before the students an opportunity to take lessons directly from a foreigner.

 

International webinar: French speaking with a native speaker

The French learners of Christ College Irinjalakuda experienced a spark of joy learning to speak French from a connoisseur!

The Department of French organised an International Webinar, «Apprendre la prononciation française» (Learn French pronounciation) on 25th May 2022 at 3 PM, via Zoom. The key resource person for the session was Ms. Fadette Badie d'Arcis, a native of France currently working as an Asst. Professor at St. Teresa’s College. Madame is an expert in the field with 14 years & plus of experience teaching French to foreign learners from different countries.

She introduced to the students, the essential rules and useful tips to speak French with confidence. The session proved itself to be truly beneficial and captivating.
