The Department started functioning in 2015, with its own Training Kitchen, Training Restaurant, Guest room. The department provide an educational foundation for a range of administrative and management careers in the hospitality industry. Helps students to acquire skill for future management roles of various types of hospitality units and be aware of social responsibilities of an organization to its employees and clients. The Department is very particular in ensuring experiential learning in various core subjects during the course period. This is ensured by organizing hands- on training in Basic Training Kitchen, Advanced Training Kitchen, Training Restaurants, Guest Room maintained for Housekeeping Practical as well as Front Office Practical Labs. Students also come up with various theme-based food service within the department. They organize food festivals on various themes. Students in the Fifth Semester are sent to various hotels for Industrial Exposure Training. Each of them undergoes training in various departments in the hotel, where they apply the theory knowledge gained from the institution. The Department ensures participative learning in every course with more emphasis on the core courses. For various courses, teachers employ participatory learning techniques like group discussions, power point presentations and discussions, debates and analysis on various topics related to Travel and Tourism industry. Every batch of students is taken to a five-star property at the start of the programme where students interact with the industry experts. Interested students are also provided facility to get trained in any one section during vacation. After the successful completion of the course, the Department strives for the placement of the students in star hotels in India and abroad. Many of our students are placed in Maldives, Dubai, & in the Middle East. The Department also assists the students to do higher studies abroad.
