GUIDANCE FOR COMPETITIVE EXAMS AND CAREER COUNSELLING

Organized a guidance program 'Jalakam' for UG students as a foundation stone to mould them in chasing their post-graduation courses to carve a better future. Raveesh R Varrier, Assistant professor , St Aloysius college, was the resource person.

Conducted a webinar with reference to How to Crack IIT JAM on 30th June 2021. The session was handled by Jiya Rose Johnson, Research Scholar IIT Madras.

“Career Clinic”-a mock interview session was conducted for 2nd DC and 3rd DC mathematics self- students.

Conducted a session on ‘Tips to crack Company Secretary Exams’ by C.S Venkita Raman G (Chairman, Palakkad Chapter ICSI) on 18th August 2021.

EXTENSION PROGRAM – GANITHAM MADHURAM

The Department of Mathematics tutoring and guiding the 12th-grade students of Govt. Model HSS, Nadavaramba.

WEBINAR SERIES

Successfully hosted a Nationwide webinar with reference to GeoGebra on 25th June 2021.   The core part of the session was handled by Prof  Sukesh A (Assistant professor, Govt college of engineering, Kannur).

Invited talk on ‘Generalized Sets’ by Dr. Babitha K.V (Assistant professor, Dept of Mathematics, Govt college, Kasargod) on 12th August 2021.

INTERACTION WITH ALUMNI

GUIDANCE FOR COMPETITIVE EXAMS AND CAREER COUNSELLING

Department of Mathematics organized an Orientation Programme for IIT JAM preparation through online platform by Mr Anand O R, Alumnus IIT Bombay on 30^th June 2020.

A discussion on problem cracking technique for IIT JAM by Dr. Anoop N Nair, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, College of Engineering Punnapra was conducted on 7^th July 2020 through online mode.

Organized an Orientation Programme for NET in Mathematics by Mr. Tonny K B, Assistant Professor of Mathematics, College of Engineering Trivandrum on 22^nd July 2020 through online platform.

INTERNATIONAL WEB CONFERENCE

Conducted a Two-Day International Web Conference on Fractals and Iterated Function Systems on 25^th and 26^th September 2020. Dr. Krzysztof Lesniak, Nicolaus Copernicus University Poland and Dr. Vinodkumar P B, Rajagiri School of Engineering and Technology presented the research works in the conference.

TESSERACT 

In connection with the national mathematics day, Department of Mathematics and Mathematics association organized an Intercollegiate Virtual Mathematics Fest, TESSERACT.

ENDOWMENT LECTURE SERIES

Organized first lecture (Online) of Fr. Thomas Chakramakkal Endowment Lecture Series on 6^thJanuary 2021. Dr. Indulal G, Associate Professor of Mathematics, St. Aloysius College Edathua was the resource person and he delivered a talk on the topic “Beauty of Mathematics”.

Organized second lecture (Online) of Fr. Thomas Chakramakkal Endowment Lecture Series on 26^thFebruary 2021. Dr. Vinod Kumar P, Associate Professor of Mathematics, TMG College Tirur was the resource person and he delivered a talk on the topic “Continuity and Uniform Continuity".

2019-2020

INVITED TALKS

Conducted a session on ‘Cryptography’ by Dr. Joju K T, Associate professor, Department of Mathematics, Prajyoti Niketan College, Pudukkad in connection with Mathematics Association Inauguration on 30.09.2019.

Organized an invited talk on ‘Leech Labelling’ by Dr. Aparna Lakshmanan, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, St. Xaviers College, Aluva on 27^th December 2019.

INTERACTION WITH ALUMNI

BSc students had an interaction with Alumni, Mr. Akhil Damodharan, Assistant Professor, Sree Vyasa College, Vadakkanchery on 10th July 2019.

INTER-COLLEGIATE QUIZ COMPETITION

The Department of Mathematics conducted an inter-Collegiate Quiz Competition in Mathematics on 13^th December 2019 as a part of  “National Mathematics Day celebration to commemorate Sri. Srinivasa Ramanujan’s 132th Birthday”. Dr. Aparna Lakshmanan, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, St.Xaviers College, Aluva was the Quiz master.
