World Environment day programme

World Environment day programme 2018, sponsored by Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE), Thiruvananthapuram, was conducted on 5^th and 6^th June 2018. The following programmes were organized by Biodiversity Club, Bhoomithrasena, Enviro Club & Dept. of Botany in association with the Dept. of Zoology and Dept. of Geology & Environmental Science.

• Invited Lecture on “From plastic religion to solid science: Logical fallacies & other stories” By. Dr. T. V. Sajeev, Senior Scientist E-1, Dept. of Forest Entomology, Kerala Forest Research Institute, Peechi, Thrissur.
• Documentary Film ‘An inconvenient Truth’
• Intercollegiate quiz competition on “Environment”
• Planted saplings in the campus and nearby areas.

World Ozone day programme, 2018

In connection with World Ozone Day celebrations 2018 Biodiversity club, Bhoomithrasena and Enviro club in association with Dept. of Botany, Dept. of Geology and Environmental Science and Dept. of Zoology had organized various programmes on September 17 and 18, which were funded by Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment. We conducted the following programmes:

• Poster competition and exhibition of the posters on “Ozone Depletion and Climate Change”         
• Essay writing competition on “Significance of Ozone Day and Montreal Protocol”
• Invited Lecture on “Understanding the Climate, Climate Change and the ways to keep the climate cool” by Dr. Shijo Joseph, Senior Scientist, Division of GIS & Remote Sensing, Kerala Forest Research Institute, Peechi, Thrissur.

Workshop on “Faunal Diversity of Thommana Kole Wetlands”

In connection with World Wetland Day 2019 on-field Para-Taxonomy Workshop on “Faunal Diversity of Thommana Kole Wetlands” sponsored by Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE), Thiruvananthapuram was organized with Bhoomithrasena Club, Biodiversity Club and Enviro Club on 2^nd February, 2019.
