INVITED TALK

Department of Computer Science organized an invited talk on Cyber Security on 05-02-2017. Talk was handled by Mr. Biju P.A, Cyber Cell, Thrissur.

WEBINARS

Department organized a Webinar on 'ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE' on 11-09-2017.Session was handled by members from TCS Company.

Department of Computer Science organized a Webinar on the topic  'PHP' on 17-9-2017.The session was handled by technical members from TCS.

 

 

2018-2019

 

TRANING SESSION

Department of Computer Science organized an aptitude trining session for the students on 19-01-2019.Classes were taken by Mr. Jomy P.L, Founder and Director of Sensorium.

    

 

 

SEMINAR

Department Organized a Seminar on the topic 'MACHINE LEARNING' with live Robert demo on 30-01-2019. Seminar was handled by technical members of Networks System.

 

 

  

 

 

2019-2020

This year the department of computer science have successfully conducted various lectures, webinars and extracurricular activities to help students broaden their skills, attain new knowledge and skills as well as their understanding of their field of interest.Many students has been placed in the various companies and so many students have been successfully attended interview and their results are awaiting. 

 

INDUCTION PROGRAM

Department conducted an Induction program for the students of 2019 admission batch on 02-07-2019 which was handled by the faculty members Vandana .T.V and Minu Mary P.J.

 

ALUMNI MEET

Department conducted Alumni meet on 13-07-2019.

  

 

FDP

Department organized a Faculty Devepolment Program (FDP) on 27-07-2019. Topic of the FDP was 'DATA VISUALIZATION USING TABLEAU'.The session was handled by, Dr.Nishad P.M,Assistant Professor,MACFAST,Kottayam. 

  

 

TECHFEST 

Department conducted an Intercollegiate  Techfest, ' ZEPHYRUS 1.9 ' on 27th and 28th september 2019.Students from various colleges participated in the two day techfest, which was well organised by the staff and students of Computer Science department.

 

  

 

ORIENTATION FOR PARENTS

Department organized an orientation for the parents about the carees option in IT industry.Class was conducted by, Networkz Systems, Thrissur on 18-11-2019.

 

TRAINING

Department conducted an online traning session on LATEX for the U.G and P.G students on 3rd and 4th december 2019. The session was handled by Ms. Prinyanga K.K, Faculty of Computer Science Department.

 

INVITED TALK

Department organized an invited talk about the programming language ANDROID on 4-12-2012. The session was handled by, Mr. Dibin D Muttikkel, Nexus Academy.

Students and Faculty members visited Abhaya Bhavan, Irinjalakuda on 02-01-2020.

 

ASSOCIATION

Inauguration of the association was held on 29-01-2020. An invited talk followed by cultural programs of students were conducted.

 

SKILL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM

Department conducted a Skill Development Program for the U.G and P.G students on 14-02-2020. Program was handled by, Johnon Leon, co-Founder & Executive Director ,Skill2Pro Learning.

Department organized a National Webinar on 07-03-2020.The resource persons were -

Students from the final year BCA and BSc. COMPUTER SCIENCE, visited, UST Global,Infopark,Kakanad on 23-08-2019.

 

ALUMNI TALK SERIES

(a) A talk on 'How  to Moldyour career as Christie' on 02-07-2019 by , Adithya r pai and Johns Devassy, 2015-2018 batch BSc. CS students.

(b) A talk on 'How to prepare for campusplacement' on 05-11-2019,by Vivina Varghese,OperationalExecutive,TCS (2016-19 batch BCA student).

(c) A talk on 'How to reduce the gap between industry and curriculum' on 29-01-2020, by, Gokul Ramachandran , Software Engineer,Wipro (2013-16 batch BCA student)

 

2020-2021

The year 2020-2021 was the year of COVID-19 pandemic. This year has brought tremendous change in the teaching and learning methods and also in the field of computer science. It has been witnessed as the peak year of computer science since all the fields are dwindling to computers and ICT technology. This year department has successfully conducted various lectures, webinars and extracurricular activities to help students broaden their skills, attain new knowledge and skills as well as their understanding of their field of interest. Department also provided a flood report for padiyoor panchayat using data visualization tools. Despite of this pandemic, students has been placed in the various companies.

(a) Department conducted  a webinar on the topic, 'THE IMPORTANCE OF DATA SCIENCE & ANALYTICS FOR ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND ROBOTICS' which was held on 12-06-2020.The resource person was Dr. Sreekanth D, Senior Knowledge Officer, ICT Academy, Kerala.

(b) Department conducted  a webinar in association with IQAC on the topic, 'WHAT IS THE REALITY BEHIND DATA ANALYTICS CAREER' which was held on 4-09-2020.The resource person was Mr. Jomon Joseph, CEO, Strategist.

(c) Department conducted  a webinar  on the topic, 'WHY EXCEL STILL MATTERS IN THE WORK PLACE' which was held on 17-09-2020.The resource person was Mr. Jomon Joseph, CEO, Strategist.

(e) Department organized an Invited Talk on the topic 'BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN EDUCATION AND INDUSTRY' on 16-01-2021. The resource person was, Mr. Joseph Job, Red Hat Academy.

(f) Department organized an Invited Talk on the topic 'DevOps and CHATBOT' on 05-03-2021. The resource person was,Dr. V. Vijayakumar, Professor,Computer Science Department, Sreeramakrishna College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore.

(f) Department organized an Invited Talk on the topic 'EMINENT ROLE OF WOMEN IN CYBER SPACE' on 08-03-2021. The resource person was,Ms. Sreelakshmi Palliyil, Information Security Professional, OSCP,Abudhabi.

 

MOU

The department of Computer science is  successfully providing 3 certification course to establish Professional Credibility, Grow Your Knowledge and Skills and boost efficiency.Department of Computer Science signed  MOU’s  this with the following Institutions:

UGC-NET COACHING

Department provides UGC-NET coaching (Paper1 and Paper 2) from 07-10-2021 onwards. Students from P.G Departments actively participates in the online training sessions.

 

COMPETITIONS

(a) Department organized a video competition -' RISE UP' on 05-05-2020.

(b) Department conducted a Quiz competition - 'QUIZ TO TEST YOU' in connection with world literacy day, on 02-12-2020.
