National seminar on “Know Your Nature” in connection with the celebrations of World Environment Day – 2017 was conducted on 6^th June 2017, by Enviro Club, Bhoomithrasena club, Biodiversity club, Department of Geology and Environmental Science, Department of Botany and National Service Scheme. The programme was sponsored by KSCSTE, Thruvananthapuram. The seminar was inaugurated by Sri. Patil Suyog Subhash Rao, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer, Thrissur. The technical sessions were handled by Dr. Deepesh V., Scientist, Central Pollution Control Board, Bengaluru and Dr. Dipu S., Scientist, Water quality division, Centre for Water Resources Development and Management, Kozhikode.

KSCSTE sponsored National Seminar on “Wetlands for a Sustainable Urban Future” in connection with the celebrations of World Wetland Day- 2018, was organized by Biodiversity Club, Enviro Club and Bhoomithrasena Club In association with the Department of Botany and Department of Geology & Environmental Science on 1^st February, 2018. Dr. K.A. Subramanian, Scientist – D & Officer-in-Charge, Southern Regional Centre, Zoological Survey of India (ZSI), Chennai & Member, IUCN SSC Specialist Group (Odonata) inaugurated the seminar and handled the technical session on the ‘Freshwater Biodiversity of India and its Conservation’. The technical sessions were handled by Dr. S. Sreekumar, Associate Professor (Retd.) & Research Guide, Dept. of Geology & Environmental Science, Christ College (Autonomous), Irinjalakuda, Thrissur District, Kerala and Dr. P. Sujanapalan, Scientist, Silviculture Division, Kerala Forest Research Institute (KFRI), Peechi, Kerala.

Invited Talk

Dr. Sudhikumar A.V. Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, Christ College (Autonomous), Irinjalakuda, has delivered an invited talk on “An Introduction to the World of Spiders” conducted as part of World Wildlife Day (March 3) on 21^st February 2018.
