Anti-ragging Committee

Ragging in all its forms is prohibited in the Christ College Campus, including the departments, all its premises (academic, residential, sports, canteen, restrooms etc.), within the campus or outside it and all means of transportation whether public or private. The provisions of the Act of the Central Government and the State Governments if enacted will consider ragging as a cognizable offence under the law on a par with rape and other atrocities against women and ill-treatment of persons belonging to SC/ ST.

Objectives

1. To educate students of the dehumanizing effect of ragging by conducting different awareness programs.

2. To generate an atmosphere of discipline in the campus by sending a clear message that no act of ragging shall be tolerated and any act of ragging shall not go unnoticed and unpunished.

3. To keep a continuous watch and vigil over ragging so as to prevent its occurrence and recurrence.

4. To deal with the incidents of ragging at the earliest and bring justice to the victims.

 

Mechanism

Students should register their complaints at the earliest.

Anti-ragging Squad

The Anti-ragging squad functions under the Anti-ragging committee which regularly updates the committee about the ragging events and potentialities in the campus.

  • Make sure all the stakeholders are informed about the ragging free campus through public media, brochures of admission, college website, college hand book, social media and print media.
  • Request both parents and candidates to fill and sign an Affidavit on Anti ragging.
  • Maintain good rapport with local police station to enable help and share of information in case of an event.
  • Regular policing by squad, volunteers and student’s council members in the beginning of the odd semester every year
  • Installation of CCTV at vantage and vulnerable points in the campus
  • Maintain records of where students stay if residing in outside hostels and monitoring their actions.
  • Prepare freshers to report boldly about any ragging incidents.
  • Organizing Fresher’s Day as a mark of welcome by Student’s council & seniors.
  • Make random surveys among the first-year students.
