Clubs and Associations at Christ College promote the leadership capabilities of students along with that nurture them with essential life skills and values. The student leaders work hand in hand with teacher coordinators to arrange various programs in accordance with the vision and mission of each club. Programs are chartered to enhance the overall development of students in tune with the motto of College ‘Jeevith Prabha’ (Light of Life) and in accordance with the vision ‘Moulding an enlightened generation by developing the potential of individuals through quality higher education and moral value inculcation’.
Following are the broad areas in which the Clubs and Associations work.
Promotion of Gender equity (NAAC Criterion 7.1.1)
Women Development Cell, NSS, and Thavanish actively organize programmes which promote gender equity and gender sensitization.
Inclusive Environment (NAAC Criterion 7.1.8)
Various activities are planned to promote and inclusive environment - tolerance and harmony towards cultural, regional, linguistic, communal socioeconomic and other diversities. The Bahuswara (Disability Cell), is envisioned to support disabled students within and outside college.
The annual talent exhibition of mentally challenged students Saviskara organized by Thavanish is a distinctive programme of Christ College.
Sravyam initiative by NSS in association with College Library promote inclusiveness of visually impaired by producing audio books.
Spic Macay, NSS, Womens Development Cell, NCC, Dance and Music Club, Readers Club, Debate and Literary club all work towards in promoting tolerance towards diversities.
National and international commemorative days, events and festivals (NAAC Criterion 7.1.11)
To promote national integrity NCC celebrates Republic Day, Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanthi and Yoga Day. Biodiversity Club and NSS organizes events on Environment Day, Earth Day, Wetlands Day etc.
Promotion of Green campus initiatives (NAAC Criterion 7.1.5)
Four Clubs work towards the promotion of green sensitization amoung students and communities which are Biodiversity Club, Bhoomithra sena, Enviro Club and Christ Cycling club.
